This is Taran Trevelyan, AKA the Inquisitor.
Taran was the born the youngest of a sprawling Free Marcher family. Growing up, he was completely unaware that he was the soulmate/Voice of a Tevinter mage; however, he spent his entire life concerned about the treatment of mages. At a very young age, he began helping mages smuggled out of Kirkwall escape and find new lives. He attended the talks at Haven with his older brother (there to represent the Trevelyan family) and by chance stumbled across Corypheus and Divine Justinia. He caught the orb, obtained the mark, and was thrown back into the Fade. Justinia saved him, but the temple was razed and many were killed.
Also? A hole was torn into the sky.
It turned out Taran was the only one who could close the rifts that were opening across Thedas, thanks to the mark on his hand. He was seen as the Herald of sacred Andraste and a bit of a messianic figure in his own right. He fought to try to bring order back to the world. Also during an attempt to straighten out Thedas, he stumbled across Dorian—his soulmate.
Ultimately, Taran and his friends were able to spread the calming influence of the Inquisition across Thedas, seal the breach in the sky, defeat Corypheus, and restore order. He and Dorian lived happily ever after.
Now he is Aaron Kelly.
Aaron was a “lost boy” of the FLDS. He was raised on a compound with his mass of siblings until he was forced out at 11. He was found on the side of the highway and made into a bit of a media sensation/political talking point against the fundamentalist sects. He was adopted by the Kelly family and brought to live with them at age 12. And really…that pretty much couldn’t have worked out better for him.
It took him a little while to adjust to life outside of the compound, but he took to his new siblings right away. He’s friendly, affectionate, and endlessly kind, with high levels of empathy. He also took to their strange, wonderful, musical lifestyle right away. Aaron has a fantastic voice with a natural folksy flare to it, though he can do rock and punk just as well. He proved to be a natural, picking up guitar and violin and drums in addition to piano, which he already knew from his time on the compound. He likes to participate in the Kelly family’s performances, no matter what they are, and is an engaged and encouraging brother.
He tours bars around the boros, playing, and his band has started to really get a following. Most recently, his mother has been nudging him toward some producers and agents she knows, but he’s been reluctant to take the next step into actually building up fame. Still, a lot of people in the NY music scene recognize him and his bandmates on sight.
Aaron makes extra money by teaching music lessons to kids and seniors.
Aaron is 20 and is pursuing music instead of formal education.
